15 sovereigns of gold stolen from house

Kasaragod, Jul 4: Unidentified persons burgled a house at Kumbla on Sunday night, and decamped with over 15 sovereign gold ornaments, two cell phones, and a wrist watch, the police have said.

The family of Abdulla Kunhi, a resident of Kattathadkka, had kept the keys of the house by the window before going out. The family was at the betrothal function of their son when burglers broke into the house.

Upon returning they found that valuables estimated around Rs. 3.71 lakh kept in a shelf were missing.

The Kumbla police have registered case under provisions of IPC section 454 (trespass), and 380 (theft). Fingerprint experts have reached the spot as part of investigation.
