Farmer writes to GP prez for bride

Gadag, Aug 2: In a bizarre incident, a 29-year-old farmer has written to the Gram Panchayat president and the panchayat development officer, urging them to find a bride for him.

In the letter, Manjunath Ramappa Poojar of Ramagiri village says no parent is coming forward to give his or her daughter in marriage to him since he is a farmer. Basanna Betageri, another farmer, says agriculturists are in distress due to irregular rain patterns and hence, were being forced to take loans.
