Hearing on poisonous prasada case in which 17 devotees died posted for Feb 12

Chamarajanagara, Jan 29: The Chamarajanagara District and Principal Sessions Court conducted the Sulwadi Temple tragedy case against four accused through video conferencing due to security reasons at the court premises here on Tuesday.

In the food poisoning tragedy 17 devotees died and more than 100 fell ill after consuming 'Prasada' laced with pesticide on December 14, 2018 at Kichugutti Maramma temple at Sulwadi in Hanur taluk in the district.

The hearing was scheduled on Tuesday and the police were supposed produce the main accused Salur Mutt junior pontiff Immadi Mahadevaswamy, Temple Manager Madesha, his wife Ambika and former employee of the temple Doddaiah, housed in Mysuru Central Jail, before the judge B Basavaraja.
