UoM to digitise Kannada works

Myruru, Jan 20: University of Mysore (UoM) and Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, will digitise 300 Kannada works and upload them on a portal.

The UoM and "Bharatavani," a programme of the CIIL have entered into a pact for digitising several works of Prasaranga, a publication division of UoM and those of Oriental Research Institute. The objective of Bharatavani project is to ensure that knowledge is delivered in all Indian languages in multimedia format - text, audio, video and images, through a portal.

The works will be scanned and uploaded in Portable Document Format (PDF) on www.bharatavani.in. They would also be available in text format in the coming days.
