Police on the lookout for murder bid accused

Kasaragod, Jun 22: The police are on the lookout for Sreejith, an accused in a murder attempt case at the communally sensitive Choori locality in the district.

The police have spread a dragnet to nab Sreejith and the arrest is expected to be made shortly, a senior police official here said on Wednesday.

The police are also keeping a close watch on Sandeep, who is being treated at a hospital here after the local residents manhandled him after a three-member group attacked one Altaf while he was having food at an outlet at Choori locality around 10.45 p.m. on Monday. Sandeep would be arrested once he is discharged from the hospital, the officer added.

Meanwhile, police have taken into custody Salman Rifas, the fourth accused in the murder attempt on one Rajesh alias Raju at the nearby Mogral-Puthur locality around 9.45 p.m. on June 14 triggering tension in some parts of the district.
