14 injured in Holi clash in Raichur

Raichur, Mar 14: As many as 14 people were injured in a clash between Scheduled Castes and Kurubas in Kalmala village in Raichur taluk on Monday when a group objected to the other using objectionable language during Holi celebrations.

The injured have been shifted to the District General Hospital in Raichur where their condition is said to be out of danger.

Raichur Rural Police, who rushed to the spot after receiving information, brought the situation under control. Additional police force has been deployed in the village.

A case and counter case under various sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Indian Penal Code were registered against 31 persons from both sides in the Raichur Rural Police Station.
