Delhi: Mercedes mows down 17-year-old boy near Paschim Vihar

New Delhi, Mar 6: A 17-year-old boy died after he was ran over by a Mercedes-Benz near Miawali Nagar in West Delhi on Monday.

According to the police, the incident happened early morning on Monday when the boy was driving a scooter. The speeding Mercedes lost control near G Block and rammed into the scooter.

Sources said that the impact of the collision was such that the boy was flung into the air.

Police said that the boy suffered grievous injuries to his head. The driver of the car fled from the spot immediately after the incident. Officials from the police said that they have begun investigations and are working towards tracking down the accused.

After the accident, the boy was rushed to the nearest hospital by the guards working at G Block. However, he died in the hospital. Following the incident, the Delhi Police have registered a case of death due to negligence.

This is the second incident of road accident in the last 24 hours. In another incident, a policeman suffered injuries to his leg after a speeding car him near Vasant Kunj. The man was serving at the picket when the car hit him.

The policeman suffered a fracture following the incident. The vehicle was later found abandoned.
