Cattle death toll touches 82

Udupi, April 19: With four more heads of cattle dying at Henberu hamlet in Paduvari Gram Panchayat limits near Byndoor in Udupi district on Wednesday, the number of dead cattle in the last seven days has touched 82.

Nagaraj Marvanthe, Veterinary Officer, Byndoor, said that two heads of cattle had died on Tuesday evening, while two more had died on Wednesday, taking the toll to 82.

Of the 19 ailing heads of cattle, 18 were showing good response, while one was suffering from hindquarter paralysis.

As many as 52 heads of cattle were under precautionary treatment. Soil had been dumped in all places where there was garbage.
