Mangalore, Jan 23: Members of the Bajarang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held a protest in front of PVS Circle in Mangalore on Wednesday condemning the statement of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on ‘saffron terror’.

The protestors disrupted traffic for 15-20 minutes and shouted slogans against Mr. Shinde.

Speaking on the occasion Shivananda Bhandar, District Convenor, Bajarang Dal, said that Mr. Shinde must take back his words.

“He has tried to equate us with blind Muslim fundamentalists. The RSS is a patriotic organization, permission for march-past on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day was given by Pandit Nehru himself. He must take back his words and apologise to the nation. We Hindus are not terrorists”, he said.

Sharan Pumpwell and other Bajarang Dal activists also participated in the protest.
