Mangalore, Apr 19: Even as the family of Kabeer and residents of Krishnapura and Jokatte localities and demanded a CBI inquiry in the incident wherein he was gunned down by Anti Naxal Force personnel at Sringeri in the wee hours of Saturday, the Superintendent of Police, Chikmagalur district, Chetan R said that a thorough investigation would be conducted on his death.
The naxal affected areas continue to remain on high alert in Sringeri taluk in the backdrop of recent attacks in the region by naxal groups.
Commander of Anti Naxal Force Seemanth Kumar Singh is on leave.
JIH, Mangalore Khazi, PFI SDPI demand action
Terming the killing of Kabeer as an inhuman act, several Muslim organizations have demanded judicial probe and strong action against the culprits.
Mangalore Khazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Kabeer by ANF personnel. He urged the government to take necessary steps to avoid such incidents in the future.
He also said that government should announce compensation to the bereaved families.
Mangalore unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind also condemned the killing. President Saeed Ismaeel said that the fake encounter' by ANF should be thoroughly investigated. He said that the government should also hand over the investigation of the entire shootout to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
He said government should transfer overstaying police officials to other parts.
Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) demanded a judicial probe into the brutal murder of Kabeer near Sringeri.
In a press release Aboobaker Kulai, District President of SDPI said only a judicial enquiry can find out what happened and who were behind the incident.
