Bangalore, Jul 23: Police have arrested the chairman of school in Bangalore, where a 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped earlier this month by the school's skating instructor.
Though the accused, Mustafa, has been arrested, activists and parents have been demanding action to be taken against the school management for not conducting background checks before hiring Mustafa and also for trying to cover up the whole incident initially.
Kerrawala can be prosecuted under Sections 176 and 202 of the Indian Penal Code, which prescribe punishment for withholding information while under an obligation to inform the authorities.
The school has not been functioning since last thursday and no further notice has been given as to when it will reopen.
