Mangalore, Aug 30: Women should attain maturity with the help of both material and spiritual education, said renowned gynecologist Dr Jameela.
Speaking after inaugurating the Seminar on Islamic Education organized by Thaqwa Girls Islamic School run by Islamic Cultural Centre, Mangalore, on Friday she said that such mature women can build a strong and healthy society.
She said that in the current situation there is enough opportunity for women to take part in the activities and programmes in society without violating the religious norms and obligations.
“Utilizing such opportunities educated and mature women can help empowering other less-fortunate women besides striving for self empowerment,” she said lauding the programmes of Islamic Cultural Centre.
Zahida Jaleel, Academic Counselor, Prestige International School, Mangalore and Zohra Abbas, Principal, Al-Badria P U College, Krishnapura, were the resources persons.
Nasreen Y Abdullah Kunhi, presided over the programme, which commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses by Ayisha Ullal.
Sunaira Abdul Qayyoom, Secretary, Thaqwa Girls Islamic School welcomed the gathering. Fareeda Kanachur proposed vote of thanks. Amreena Haider Parthipady compered the programme.
