Mangaluru, Dec 20: A poor family with orphan kids living under a tent at Athoor village near Uppinangady on the outskirts of the city was blessed with a sweet home thanks to the Social Change Project (SCP) launched by Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA), a philanthropic organisation of Indians in Kuwait.
The handing over ceremony of the newly constructed house under Housing Improvement Programme, one of the four programmes under SCP was held on Wednesday.
The house was built by the Karnataka wing of KKMA in coordination with Coastal Welfare Forum.
S M Rashid Haji of SMR group was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the efforts of KKMA towards uplifting the downtrodden and poor people of the community.
SM Basheer from KKMA, speaking on the occasion thanked Costal Welfare Forum for its support in building a house for a poor family.
œThis is the first house built under Housing Improvement Programme of KKMA. Another house will be ready for inauguration within a few days. More houses will be build for poor in future, he said.
KKMA Karnataka State coordinator S M Farooq, local councilor Thoushif, social worker Khalil Basha, Suhail Kandak, Irshad UT, Imthiyaz, Shafiq, Hakim from Costal Welfare Forum and Thamim, Puthubava from KKMA were present on the occasion.
