Mangaluru, Sep 26: The department of minorities' welfare will soon host a job fair in Mangaluru under the patronage of the government of Karnataka.
Y Sayeed Ahmed, the minority cell president of the Karnataka State Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), who was in the city on Saturday told media persons that the department will announce the date shortly.
He said that minority cell will hold zonal conferences in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Belagavi soon to spread the message of communal harmony and national integrity.
The district meets will be held prior to the zonal conferences and a state-level convention will be held in Bengaluru where party's national leaders will participate.
While district level conventions will be held in November, the dates for zonal and state meets will be finalized later. Handbills containing information on various government schemes available for minority communities will be distributed during the meets, he said.
He said, special programmes to promote communal harmony will be held in all taluks and blocks of Dakshina Kannada district.
N S Kareem, who has been appointed as Dakshina Kannada district president of KPCC minority cell will assume charge at a programme to be held in Mangaluru in the second week of October, he said.
