Swadesh Jubail lifts MFC Champions Trophy 2016

Dammam: Swadesh Jubail emerged champions by defeating Raisco Riyadh in the final match of MFC Champions Trophy 2016.

The second day of the tournament started with a welcome match between Egalite and Safa Alhasa. The tournament began at Sabsa ground on April 22 with 24 teams from Al Hassa, Riyadh, Dammam, Al-Khobar and Jubail regions.

At Semi Final Swadesh defeated Amaco while Raisco defeated Khobar United and qualified for the final. Final match was played for 6 overs between Swadesh and Raisco.

Batting first Raisco score 32 runs in 6 overs. In response, Swadesh had good start and scored 36 runs in 3 overs by losing one wicket, winning comfortably by 9 wickets.

After the final match, prize distribution was held. MFC Anchor Davood welcomed the guests. Mr. Abbobaker Kulai, SDPI former DK District President, Mr. Imran Rasheed, Eastern Arabia Contracting KSA, Mr. Sameer, Lucky Star, Mr. Abdul Muneer, President MFC Sports Club KSA, Mr. Abdul Khader, Green Star Sports Club KulaI, Mr. Abdul Rehaman Baikampady, Mr. Ameer Hussain, Vice President MFC Sports Club KSA, Mr. Arief, Team Manager MFC Sports Club KSA, Mr. Ilyas ICC Sports Club Dammam, Mr. Hidayath, Treasurer MFC Sports Club KSA, were present.

The trophies were distributed to the following: Champions: Swadesh Jubail; Runners up: Raisco Riyadh; 3rd Place: Amaco Jubail; Best Batsman: Ilyas from Raisco; Best Bowler: Nizam from Swadesh; Best Wicket keeper: Asif from Raisco; Man of the Match in Final: Thasleem from Swadesh.

Ajman: Ashok Bai Baria (44), a resident of Valsad - Ahmedabad, succumbed to a heart attack in Ajman. 

The incident occurred on March 13 morning at his residence, following which he experienced severe physical distress leading to the fatal cardiac arrest. 

Fishing has been a longstanding activity in Ajman- UAE, with Baria being actively involved in the profession for many years. 

Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, has informed that all necessary arrangements are underway to repatriate the deceased's body to his hometown.
