Sohar: Sohar Premier League 2017, a week long, hard tennis ball cricket tournament was held at sohar, Oman last week with the finals played on the 5th of May 2017.
Mangalore United emerged victorious beating Shamal Plastics - MFS in the finals by 24 runs.
Exceptional team work from Mangalore United players and some brilliant individual batting and bowling performances led them to the victory.
"We are very proud of our boys, all their hardwork and effort put into the game has finally paid off. They possess great team spirit and will definitely bring us more glory." Said team manager Mr. Anil dsouza speaking of their performance.
Captain and Icon player of Mangalore United Ashok Mathias won man of the match in Semi finals and finals and awarded best batsman of the tournament along with orange cap for most runs, Maximum Sixes and Maximum fours award.
Rana of L&T was best bowler and Sameer of Shamal Plastics - MFS was Player of the Tournament.
Chennai Sohar Kings Crystal won Fair Play award of SPL.
The team players of all teams included players from multiple nationalities and the game was recieved with great glory by the audience.
