Abu Dhabi, June 25: The UAE is all set to get a new brand identity as residents can now vote to select a logo for the country. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called on residents to select the best design for a UAE brand logo.

Residents can go to the official website of Shaikh Mohammed (www.uaepm.ae) and select from five varied designs celebrating, diversity, dynamism, leadership and heritage among others.

The winning design will become the nation’s brand as it will be used to promote the UAE, its simplicity and evolution and the unique aspects  that distinguish it from other countries.

According to the directives of Shaikh Mohammed, the participation is open through the website until July 18. Participants can vote on one of five designs, available in both Arabic and English. The implementation of the selected design will take place according to a strategic communication plan in coordination with all concerned entities.

The nation brand is different from the UAE official emblem, which is used for formal purposes. It focuses on promotional aspects of the UAE as a key influencer in global economy, a nation with prestigious political status and an attractive environment, and a unique tourism and culture destination.

The idea of the nation brand emerged from the vision of the UAE leadership to take the UAE experience and different phases of its development to both internal and external audiences. Many countries use similar brands to reflect values in line with their strategic objectives.
