Shimoga, August 12: The open war of words between former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and D V Sadananda Gowda is hurting the party, said Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa.

Speaking to mediapersons after offering a bagina to the River Tunga here on Saturday, he said: “Both of them are our leaders.

But, their recent statements have upset the party workers. However, I will pray to God that they will not continue this. I hope the situation will be better in the coming days,” he said.

Delegation to Delhi

He said a delegation of BJP leaders would be taken to New Delhi demanding the Union government to release funds to tackle drought in the State.

Union Ministers Sharad Pawar and Jairam Ramesh have failed to take proper measures pertaining to the release of drought relief funds to the State, despite assessing the drought situation.

Hence, it had been decided to take a delegation to discuss the issue with the ministers, he said.
