If it’s Eid, then it calls for a big celebration in Bollywood. Especially with theKhans calling the shots in the industry. Major celebrations mark the day in B-Town as they get together with family or close friends to celebrate it. But this year it’s a little different as most of the A-listers are busy shooting for their films,in India and abroad; it is learnt that the actors wherever they are, are ensuring they don’t miss out on the celebrations and are making time for it.
Actor Aamir Khan, who took off to Chicago with wife Kiran Rao and son Azad to shoot for Dhoom 3, will be celebrating the festival there. The actor is usually known to take the day off and dress up in traditional finery. The biryani prepared in his house, especially for the festival, is very popular among B-Towners.
Actor Salman Khan, who missed out celebrating the festival with his family last year, will apparently be making up for it this year.In fact, it will be a double celebration as his recent release, Ek Tha Tiger has fetched him a record opening at the box-office yet again. Joining in the celebrations will be brother Arbaaz with wife Malaika, her sister Amrita and her husband, brother Sohail and wife Seema, and sisters Arpita and Alvira along with their close friends. Good friend, actor Katrina Kaif, however, will be missing this time as she is stationed in Ladakh, shooting for Yash Chopra’s film.
Her co-star Shah Rukh had planned to return home for Eid celebrations, but chances of it happening totally depends on his shooting schedule. “Eid Mubarak to everyone. May Allah fill your life with happiness. Look forward to reading the Takbirat in an open space in Ladakh. Insha Allah,” he tweeted.
Filmmaker Farah Khan says that it’s going to be a ‘working Eid this time’ for her.“Every year we have a huge celebration on Eid. I dress up my kids to the hilt for the occasion. But this time, I’ll be working on Eid as I’m busy doing the promotional rounds for my film Shirin Farhad Ki To Nikal Padi,” she reveals.
Filmmaker-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar, too, will be working today as he’s shooting for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Actor Emraan Hashmi, who’s in town, will be busy shooting for his film Ghanchakkar as well.
On the other hand, actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who are reportedly holidaying in London, will not be returning to the city until Tuesday.
