Udupi, June 24: Unknown culprits broke into a jewellery shop and took away gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 4.5 lakh at Hebri in Udupi district.
The incident came to light on Saturday morning.
According to police the burglary occurred in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
The burglars gained entry into Maruti Jewellers and Works through the ventilator .
They also broke open the locker and took gold and silver ornaments kept in it. They took away Rs. 10,000 kept in the drawer.
The value of the valuables stolen has been estimated at Rs. 4.5 lakh. A case has been registered.
