Manipal, July 22: A 14-foot-long python sighted on the campus of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) here created tension for a few hours on Saturday.

The Indian rock python was resting on a tree near Venugopal Temple on the campus.

Forest officials and snake catcher Gururaj Sanil managed to trap the python with the help of a rope.

Range Forest Office Prakash Poojary said the staff of the Department released the python in the Varvady Reserve Forest.
