Man held in possession of leopard pelt

Mangalore, August 9: The sleuths of Mangalore based special police forest mobile squad nabbed a person and seized a leopard pelt from him at Nadapal, Somehwar in Hebri on Wednesday.



The accused has been identified as Santhosh Shetty (32).



Based on information that Shetty and Ranjith alias Wilson are getting the pelt to be sold, the sleuths led by Police Sub Inspector Manjunath K R carried out a raid and arrested one among them. However, Ranjith fled the spot.


A case has been registered under Wildlife Protection Act.
