Mangalore, August 10: Timely response from police appeared to have saved a couple from being attacked by a Hindu vigilante group on Thursday.

A group of Hindu rightwing activists saw a Muslim boy speaking to a Hindu girl at the service bus-stand in Mangalore on Thursday afternoon. The couple boarded a private bus bound to Kasaragod. A few of the activists reportedly boarded the bus while others followed it in some vehicles. The activists had planned to get the couple off the bus before Talapady, a village on Karnataka-Kerala border.

Two journalists, who got the information about the activists’ move, passed on the information to the police. Police teams were deployed all along the route.

Once the bus entered Kerala and the activists abandoned their plan and returned, said an eye-witness.

good comment dear nazeer, i liked too. i request coastaldigest to publish an article on teaching of islam. what islam teaches to youth of such mingling with opposite sex in private and without good reason.

Time to educate the youngsters of how to stay away of such things by fearing Allah and not by fearing the moral police. Its high time.

Good job by the responsible journalists and timely action by police. The question here is how they identify a Hindu or Muslim boy? If the so called moral police goon(da)s mistaken the identity and the boy turned out to be a Hindu what would have happened? Another homestay attack.
My humble request to all Muslim boys and even girls that please be within Islamic limits as Islam doesn't permit mingling with opposite sex if there is any legitimate relations, which will cause danger in any other way. Be as a true follower or Islam and no one will touch you. Muslim parents should teach these things in their childhood so that they will not face any problem in their future life.
