Mangalore, August 21: Tension prevailed there for a while in Pilikula Nisargadhama following an altercation between a group of tourists and a security guard over a trivial issue near Manasa Amusement and Waterpark on Monday.

The police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse a crowd.

According to the police, a large number of people visited the park on Monday as it was a public holiday. The guard found some children playing in a particular area of the pool and warned them not to do so. When the children did not pay heed to his warning, the guard asked them to come out of the pool.

This led to an altercation between the guard and parents of the children. The crowd did not relent even after the police intervention. It wanted the guard to apologise for his behaviour. It took time for the firm operating the park to convince the agitated people and send them away.
