Dammam: JMWA ‘Gammat’ to promote educational campaign

Dammam, September 6: Jokatte Muslim Welfare Association (JMWA) - Dammam has will be organizing a family get-together ‘Gammat’ on September 20 at Isthira Hala, 91Area, Dammam.


The event’s main objective is to promote ‘Be a part of rural education’ campaign according to a press release issued here.


The president of JMWA Dammam Committee Mr. Mohammed Sharafullah stated in the release that his Association was established in Riyadh in 2004, under the leadership of a few likeminded youths hailing from Jokatte, aiming to bring the gulf based expatriates of Jokatte and surrounding community under one umbrella and to extend helping hands to the less fortunate, destitute and downtrodden families of Jokatte and its proximity.


The presently planned ‘Gammat’ event is mainly aimed at provide educational assistance to the needy talents of the community who are held back due to the extreme pangs of poverty. The event will be a one-night programme having a variety of joyful sports and events, informative speeches, Quiz, Qirath competitions etc. for gents, ladies and children.


A total gathering of around 3,000 people from all over of Saudi Arabia is expected according to the release.


A subcommittee is formed for overseeing the smooth execution of the event under the guidance of Zakaria Jokatte of Al-Muzain Est. Jubail, who released the inaugural brochure and coupon in Jubail.


Mohammed Ismail Ahmed (Basheer) Jokatte, took part in releasing the brochure in Dammam. The coupons were received by Salahuddin, Expertise and Saud Hassan sequentially in Jubail and Dammam.


Presently JMWA has about 300 members hail from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah and other cities of Saudi Arabia actively participating in the social cause. The core activities of the Association are briefly figured below:


•        Disbursement of Scholarship of Rs. 1,50,000 in a year  from 8th to 12th std. students.


•        Contribution of Rs. 50,000 for the marriage of poor &Yatheem  girls,  contributing presently a total amount of 5 lakhs Rupees in a  year for 10 families.


•        Distribution of monthly ration worth Rs. 1000 / family to a minimum of 20 families.


•        Distribution of Ramadan Kit for approximately 200 families in a year.


•        Arranging medical camps for up to 400 families with free medical  treatment per year.


JMWA has hitherto channeled all its programmes under Anjuman Quwwatul Islam (AQI)Jokatte keeping  in view the lengthy contributions made by AQI, he added in press statement.


Zakaria Muzain appealed for the generous support from the magnanimous people and requested to maximize the attendance and to make the occasion memorable.


Dammam JMWA Secretary, Mr.Mohammed Sherief Jokatte, Vice President Moideen G and other members were present on this Press Release Programme.
