Bus overturns, falls on van; 15 injured

Kasargod, September 9: A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus skidded and fell on a van in its bid to overtake that vehicle at Cheliyankode near here on Saturday evening.

 

Around 15 persons sustained minor injuries in the accident which occurred around 5 p.m.

 

The bus, going to Kanhangad from, overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake the van going to Uduma. The bus skidded when the wheels touched the muddy side road, the police said.

 

The injured, three of them occupants of the van, were admitted to a private hospital and the General Hospital here. The diesel tank of the bus developed leakage in the accident, triggering panic among residents in the area for a while.
