Hajj pilgrims vaccinated in Mangalore

Mangalore, September 9: Hundreds of Hajj pilgrims from across twin district of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Sunday were vaccinated in the city.

 

The day-long vaccination camp was organised by Karnataka State Hajj Committee in association with District Wakf advisory council at Yenepoya Hospital, here.

 

Mangalore Qazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar symbolically inaugurated the camp after offering du’a in Arabic.

 

District Wakf advisory council president H S Usman Haji, Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi, Mohammed Kunhi, Dr Mohammed Thahir and Mohammed Haneef Haji were present on the occasion.

 

Usman Haji said that as many as 1,145 pilgrims from districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Madikeri, Chikmagalur and Uttara Kannada would be undertaking sacred pilgrimage this year from Mangalore Airport.

 

State Hajj Committee has made arrangements to provide them polio drops and vaccination, he said.

 

Mr Usman said that Hajj Committee would also be holding a training camp for the pilgrims next Tuesday in the city.
