Mangalore: SIO to organize Marathon for peace and brotherhood on April 25

Mangalore, April 22: Students Islamic Organisation of Inida, West Region, Karnataka is organising Summer Festival-2010 on April 24 and 25.

Addressing media persons at a press conference held in the city on Thursday, 22 April, Muhammad Nisar, Secretary, SIO West Range, informed that a massive Marathon also will be carried out as part of the two day festival in order to spread the message of peace and brotherhood on Sunday 25th April at 7: 30 am, from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan, in which students from 11-14 age groups irrespective of caste, creed, colour or religion will participate.

Aiman, a junior associate of SIO said that on the eve of the Summer Festival various competitions like quiz, elocution, singing, skit, cultural programmes and various out-door games like running race, kabaddi etc will be organised.

All the students falling under 11-14 age group can participate in this camp. Cash prize of Rs. 1,500, Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 will be given to the children who obtain first, second and third place respectively.

V Ponnuraj, the Deputy Commissioner, UT Khader, MLA and many other eminent personalities will participate in this programme.

Ashfaq Ahmad Shareef, President, SIO, West Region and Muhammad Parvez, Convener of the fest were present in the press meet.
