Chappal flung at Swami Nityananda

Bangalore, April 23 : A footwear was flung at self proclaimed godman swami Nityananda while he was entering the car after being produced before a court at Ramanagaram.

Police said an onlooker flung his footwear and abused the controversial Paramahamsa Nityananda for his alleged involvement in criminal cases, including rape.

About 50 to 60 people had gathered outside Judge Pushpavathi's residence, to have a glimpse of the tainted swamy. As soon as Nityananda came out of the judge's residence and was about to sit in the police vehicle, an onlooker flung a footwear and used abusive words at him.

The swami, along with his close aide Nitya Bhaktananda was swiftly taken away by the police.

Nityananda and his aide were remanded to a four-day police custody by the Judicial Magistrate Ramanagaram.

They were lodged in a special cell at the CID (Criminal Investigation Department) office here.
