Six killed in tempo-bus collision

Gubbi, April 26: Six people were killed and many others were injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a KSRTC bus near Kallipalya village in Gubbi taluk on Sunday, April 25, police sources said.

The deceased were identified as Nanjappa (65), Lakshamma (55), Ratnamma (40), Lakshmidevamma (52), Shivakumar (42) and Kempamma (58) of Tavarekere village in Turuvekere taluk.

According to sources, all of them were on their way to Shivagange pilgrim centre in a tempo when the accident happened.

Police said that the tempo driver in an attempt to overtake the lorry collided with the KSRTC bus. Drivers of both the tempo and KSRTC bus are absconding.
