Mangalore, April 26: M V Nautica, the third cruise vessel of the new fiscal year 2010-11 arrived at New Mangalore Port at 7:00 am on Monday, April 26, with 644 passengers and 398 crew members on board the vessel, said Gopal Krishna, the Traffic Manger of NMP.
Around 300 passengers of the vessel opted for ground tour and visited places in and around Mangalore like 1000 pillar temple at Moodbidri, monolithic statue of Bahubali at Karkala, Soans farm, cashew factories, St. Aloysius Chapel, Gokarnanatha temple, Kadri Manjunatha temple, City shopping at malls and returned to the vessel. The vessel will sail out at 6:00pm.
This luxury cruise vessel with majority of tourists from USA with between the age group of 50-60 arrived at Mangalore from Port Klang, Malaysia and next port of call will be Goa. 12 passengers disembarked at New Mangalore Port to visit Mumbai by flight and will embark the same vessel at Mumbai after their visit there. This is the fifth voyage of this vessel since its maiden call to the Port on 25-4-2008
P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of NMPT, while appreciating the efforts made by the State Government for arranging Immigration facilities has stated that 10 Immigration Officers including four from Bangalore are deputed for the smooth handling of this cruise vessel as its First Port of Call. He has also added that all security arrangements under ISPS Code have been put into operation.
