Mangalore: Superintendent Engineer questioned by Lokayukta

Mangalore, April 26: Mangalore Lokayuktha enquired Syed Illyas Pasha, Superintendent Engineer of Kundsemp on the complaint of a certain Dayanand for corruption in a government project.

The officer has been alleged of acquiring an amount of 6 Crores. The Pipeline project that required a land filling of 900mm of clay bed for the base, is only 700-800 mm according to the NITK Surathkal report.

As about Rs 6 crores are being alleged to have been saved by the officer, the bill produced by him reportedly shows full amount.

However, Syed Illyas Pasha, has denied the allegations.

If he is proved guilty of taking the bribe, surely he should be kicked into jail and the governmnt need to aquire all his properties... The government employees have been soo corruptd these days as a common man finds really hard to get any work done in the offices!
