Bangalore, April 27: H R Bharadwaj, Governor of Karnataka, reiterated the need for bringing about reforms in the Police Department to improve the working condition of police personnel as they were made to work and fight round the clock for the safety of society without getting proper facilities themselves.
He was addressing the investiture ceremony-2010 organised by the Police Department at Raj Bhavan to present medals to police officials on Monday, April 26.
Expressing concern that modern day crime had become sophisticated with criminals acquiring new technologies, he called for taking steps to equip police with latest technology to deal with such situations. He also stressed the need for setting up funds to operate mobile commando task forces to tackle internal and external insurgency.
