Mangalore, April 27: As a part of All India general strike under the aegis of 13 political parties against the price hike by the Central and State government, CPI and CPI (M) Ullal Division held at protest against price rise at Thokkotu, on Tuesday, April 27.
Speaking on the occasion Krishnappa Salian, Secretary, CPI (M) Ullal Division, urged the authorities to provide the essential commodities like, rice, kerosine oil, tea powder, sugar etc. through the ration facility, so that, one doesn’t knock the doors of the capitalists. Although, CPI (M held so many protests against price hike,including Jail Bharo, there is no response from the Government. The power cuts on the other hand have troubled students, he said.
Speaking to the protestors, Padmavathi Shetty, Ex-Member, Zilla Panchayath, said that the State government after initial assurances, is now keeping quiet.
