New Delhi, Jan 15: As India gears up for a massive Covid-19 vaccination drive on January 16, many have expressed concerns over the vaccination process and raised doubts over its impact and side-effects.

One question raised by many was whether a person could get the Covid-19 infection from the vaccine. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan took to Twitter to address the rumours.

"You cannot contract Covid-19 because you have been inoculated with a vaccine, but it is possible to have caught Covid-19 and not realise you have the symptoms until after your vaccination appointment," Vardhan said.

You cannot contract #COVID19 because you have been inoculated with a #COVID19Vaccine

Busting another myth on whether the Covid-19 vaccine causes infertility in men or women, the health minister stated that "there is no scientific evidence to suggest that".

"Infertility is not known to occur as a result of Covid-19 disease either," he added.

The health minister also clarified that although there may be side effects to the vaccines, "they are expected to go away on their own after some time".

India's drugs regulator has approved Oxford Covid-19 vaccine Covishield, manufactured by the Serum Institute, and indigenously developed Covaxin of Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use in the country.

The government has purchased 1.1 crore doses of Covishield vaccine from SII at the cost of ₹200 per dose, excluding taxes, while 55 lakh doses of Covaxin are being procured from Bharat Biotech India Limited.

Image result for Greta Thunberg toolkit case: Court sends Disha Ravi to 5-day custody

New Delhi, Feb 14: A Delhi court on Sunday sent a 21-year-old climate activist to five days police custody in connection with allegedly being involved in sharing a "toolkit" on social media related to the farmers' protest.

Disha Ravi, arrested by a Cyber Cell team of the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on Saturday, was produced before a court here and police sought her seven days' custody.

The police said her custody was required to probe an alleged larger conspiracy against the government of India and to ascertain her alleged role relating to the Khalistan movement.

During the hearing, Ravi broke down inside the courtroom and told the judge that she had edited only two lines and that she wanted to support the farmers' protest.

Duty Magistrate Dev Saroha allowed the Delhi Police to quiz Ravi for five days.

While seeking her custody, the police told the court that the activist had allegedly edited the "toolkit" on February 3 and many other people are involved in the matter.

It also informed the court that they have recovered the mobile phone of the activist.

A "toolkit" is a document created to explain any issue. It also provides information on what one needs to do to address the issue. This might include information about petitions, details about protests and mass movements.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had asked Google and some social media giants to provide information about email id, URLs and certain social media accounts related to the creators of the "toolkit" shared by Thunberg and others on Twitter in connection with the farmers' protest.

The Cyber Cell had lodged an FIR against "pro-Khalistan" creators of the "toolkit" for waging a "social, cultural and economic war against the government of India".

The case against unnamed persons was registered on charges of criminal conspiracy, sedition and various other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The "toolkit" was aimed at spreading disaffection and ill-will against the government of India and creating disharmony among various social, religious and cultural groups, the police had claimed.

The MoU was signed during a visit by Aramco's senior management to Alfanar Industrial City in Riyadh, the largest privately developed manufacturing facility in the Middle East which is spread across 720,000 square meters.

The guests toured Alfanar’s various factories and visited the ladies section which employs more than 700 Saudi women for the production of electrical circuit breakers.

The number of female workers in this section has surged in recent years as proof of Alfanar’s commitment to Vision 2030’s goal of empowering professional women. Aramco recognized Alfanar Industrial City as a successful example of the private sector’s important role in localizing industry and enhancing national capacity with professionalism and high efficiency.
