Bishop unveils Mangalore Diocese post centenary silver jubilee projects

Mangalore, August 29: Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop of Mangalore released the brochure containing the high-lights of the various projects planned on the occasion of the Post Centenary Silver Jubilee of the Diocese at Bishops house, here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Bishop said that Mangalore Diocese has planned around seven projects to commemorate the jubilee year.

“We will construct 160 houses for the poor, establish two hostels and provide free education for the poor, among other activities”, he said.

He also called upon the faithful to donate good sums for this charitable activity.

Responding to a question about Police asking Protestants to have written permissions for prayer gatherings, he said that Roman Catholics have not been issued such notice.

Msgr. Denis Prabhu, Vicar General of the Diocese, Sushil Noronha, Secretary of Jubilee committee and co-ordinators of other sub committees were present during the occasion.
