Kollam, Mar 19: The police have registered a case against a Christian priest for sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy at a seminary in Kottarakkaram, Kollam.

Officer Riyaz said the incident came to light after the boy wrote of his plight to the Childline volunteers in Kollam. The Childline forwarded the letter to the circle inspector via its counterparts in Thiruvananthapuram.
The boy alleged that the priest, Father Thomas Pareckal, had allegedly abused him and three other teens, all aged between 15 and 17.
A magistrate took the boy’s statement. Riyaz said the case would be transferred to Kollam police.
