Madikeri, Apr 19: A local court in Kodagu district has dismissed a petition filed by a pro-Sangh Parivar advocate accusing actress and former MP Ramya of sedition.
Sangh Parivar had launched a campaign against Ramya for her statement that said that Pakistan is not hell and there are good people in Pakistan.
Katnamane Vittal Gowda, a lawyer, had filed a private complaint in a court in Somwarpet. The court dismissed the complaint recently.
The court said that there was no sufficient evidence to prove the case which was registered under Section 124-A of IPC.?
It noted that Pakistan has not been considered as an ‘enemy nation’ officially and Ramya’s statements do not amount to an act of sedition.
Meanwhile, Vittal Gowda, said that he would challenge the order in the higher court.
