Mangaluru, Apr 20: CentrumDirect Ltd., a leading foreign exchange company, has been awarded rights for providing Foreign Exchange services at Mangaluru International Airport. The forex counter was inaugurated Venkateshwara Rao, Director of the Airport, in presence of other senior airport officials.
Centrum offers passengers flying in and out of the city, foreign exchange at competitive rates, along with a host of other products such as Travellers Cheques, multi-currency prepaid cards and travel insurance.
Commenting on the launch, T.C Guruprasad, CEO and Managing Director, CentrumDirect Ltd. said, “Mangaluru is a fast growing business and tourism destination in Karnataka. Besides being the largest port in Karnataka, it offers a mix of beaches, religious monuments, museums and nature parks. A large number of international flights also offer direct connectivity from the Middle East countries like UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait, making it a strategic location for us to offer our forex and travel services. We currently have 14 branches in Karnataka and plan to significantly scale up our operations in this region owing to the immense potential for tourism and trade.”
Mangaluru airport serviced over 17 lakh passengers in 2016-17. It is the second largest airport in Karnataka offering connectivity to neighboring cities of Shimoga, Mysore, and Hubli in Karnataka and Kasargod, Kannur, Thalaserry, Kozikode and Thrissur in Kerala.
