Mangaluru, Nov 20: Revenue Minister R.V. Deshpande will formally inaugurate newly formed Kadaba and Moodbidri taluks on November 25, said Urban Development and district in-charge Minister U.T. Khader here on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Khader said that Mr. Deshpande will inaugurate Kadaba taluk at 9 a.m. and Moobidri taluk at 2.30 p.m. Mr. Deshpande will also inaugurate the Indira Canteen at Bantwal at 11 a.m.
The Minister will chair a meeting with MLAs from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi at 4.30 p.m. at the office of the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner wherein he will discuss issues related to conversion of land, Urban Property Ownership Record, master plan, Mr. Khader said.
Mr. Khader said that officials, including Secretaries to the department of Revenue and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, will attend the meeting.
The Minister said that the Cabinet on Monday approved a project to construct a market at Kankanady here at a cost of Rs. 41 crore. The work will be taken up jointly by the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation and the Mangaluru City Corporation which will share 50 % each of the cost of construction.
The Cabinet also cleared the proposed complete drinking water scheme for Ullal at an estimated cost of Rs. 198 crore.
Mr. Khader said that the draft of the notification to regulate laying of mobile phone towers was being finalised.
