Bengaluru, Dec 12: Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily on Monday hit out at BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa for calling Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a 'bachcha' (child).
"Who is the bachcha? Modi or Siddaramaiah? We will soon know the answer to this. The fate of the BJP will become clear in the Gujarat and Karnataka elections," Moily told reporters here.
Moily also launched a tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "blackmailing" the people of Gujarat. "I haven't seen a prime minister indulge in political campaigning like this. He's going to each and every Assembly constituency in Gujarat. He is emotionally blackmailing people," the former Union minister said.
Yeddyurappa, who has been aggressively touring the state as part of the saffron party's Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivartan Yatra, has lost sight of the ground reality, Moily said. "What face does Yeddyurappa have to campaign? What are his achievements? He went to jail himself. Yeddyurappa has become helpless," Moily said.
Cong manifesto
Moily, who is heading the manifesto committee of the state Congress, said that the panel has so far held meetings with representatives from six districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad, Belagavi and Gadag. The committee will hold a meeting on January 11 to finalise the concept and design of the party manifesto. He said that a vision document for a 'Nava Karnataka' had been prepared for all the 30 districts in the state.
The government programmes mentioned in the manifesto under the name 'Pratibimba', will be put up on the party website, the former chief minister said.
