Hubballi, Nov 17: Former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy has claimed that the Congress government in Karnataka has miserable failed to protect the interests of Muslims who are being allegedly attacked by Hindutva forces.
Addressing the gathering at a party executive committee meeting committee meeting held in Hubballi for the first time on Thursday, Kumaraswamy said: "The allegation that the JD(S) will form government with the help of BJP is a lie. Muslims should not believe Congress' allegation and should vote for the JD(S). There is no doubt that the party will win 113 seats to form the government on its own," he said.
JD(S) national vice-president P G R Sindhia claimed that talks have been held with MLC C M Ibrahim, a close aide of CM Siddaramaiah, with regard to the Congress leaders joining the JD(S). "Senior leadership of the party will take a call on the matter," said Sindhia.
