Bengaluru, Jul 25: An amateur dancer who broke his beck while practising a backflip last week breathed his last. The video of the act had gone viral.
20-year-old Kumaraswamy, a resident of Naduvanahalli in Chikkanayakanahalli, Tumakuru, battled for eight days before breathing his last on Sunday.
The youth, who worked as a dancer with Tumakuru-based orchestra team Ramu Melodies, landed on his neck while doing a backflip on June 15.
A family member said doctors on the day of his admission had told them that his veins and nerves were damaged beyond repair and chances of his survival were bleak.
A II PU dropout and only son of farmers Murthanna and Ramakka, Kumaraswamy earned by singing and dancing in performances of Ramu Melodies.
According to brother-in-law Manjunath, Kumaraswamy did not have a smartphone and wasn't aware of TikTok. His friends asked him to do the stunt which he did during orchestra shows. "He wanted to showcase his talent to the world and participate in dance reality shows," he added.
