Mangaluru, Apr 8: Former Miss World Aishwariya Rai Bachchan flew down to her hometown Mangaluru along with her family members on Saturday.
The purpose of the 43-year-old Bollywood actress’s visit is said to be a post funeral ritual of her father Krishnaraj Rai, who died in Mumbai on March 18 this year.
In 2014 Krishnaraj Rai also had accompanied Aishwariya to Mangaluru. This time she came with her mother Brinda Rai, daughter Aaradhya and brother Aditya. It is learnt that Abhishek Bachchan, who was also supposed to accompany his wife Aishwariya, cancelled his trip at the last moment.
After landing at Mangaluru International Airport, the actress and family visited Shri Manjunatheshwara Temple at Kadri in the city. At the venue, she also clicked pictures with her family.
According to sources, Aishwarya will visit a few more temples and attend family events in different parts of Dakshina Kannada district before returning to Mumbai on Sunday evening.
