Puttur, Apr 21: A six-year-old girl, Faheema, has been admitted in a serious condition to a private hospital here after being tortured allegedly by his mother and stepfather.
The girl's mother Fouzia and her stepfather Shafi are in judicial custody. The girl had wounds all over her body, including burns of Cigarette and marks of knife.
The shocking incident came to light when one of the neighbours came to know about the girl's plight and informed the activists of SDPI and PFI who filed complaint at Belthangady police station before admitting the girl at government hospital.
Fouzia had earlier married Farooq who deserted her after the birth of Faheema. Later, Fouzia married Shafi. The couple were staying at Bannur in Puttur and later shifted to Belthangady.
