Accused several in fraud cases nabbed in Padubidri

Padubidri, Oct 13: Kapu police on Sunday arrested a person who had allegedly cheated several of their money on charges of fraud.

The arrested has been identified as Sheikh Mohammed Yusuf (38), resident of Uchila.

It had been alleged that Yusuf has been involved in instances of cheating and fraud in several parts of the state including Mumbai, Shimoga, Mangalore and Moodbidri.

Yusuf is an accused in a fraud case worth Rs 1.15 lakh in Shivaji Park police station limits in Mumbai, a fraud case worth Rs 2.31 lakh in Dodda Pete station limits in Shimoga and duping a silk company of Rs 50,000.

He is also accused of stealing two mobile phones worth Rs 66,000 from Manjunath Roadlines in Mangalore. He is also said to have cheated a woman in Moodbidri of 20 gram gold jewellery and Rs 80,000 in cash by promising marriage.

Likewise, Yusuf has conned several individuals and fled with their money, informed the police.

He was arrested by the police in Shirva station limits and was handed over to Shimoga police.
