New Delhi, Jan 13: Social activist Medha Patkar on Monday announced that she will extend full support to Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, saying that it is time for new wave in Indian politics.

Addressing the media in Mumbai, Patkar said, “We need to fight the corrupt politicians. We will provide full support to AAP.”

On being asked about if she would join AAP, Patkar on Monday had said her decision would depend on AAP's responses to some clarifications she would seek from it. Patkar had also held a meeting with the constituent organisations of the National Alliance of People's Movement but refused to divulge details.

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav had approached Patkar a few days back asking her to join the party. However, when Delhi Chief Minister and the party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was asked about the possibility of Patkar joining, he said he was not aware of the move. Patkar had been a part of the original core committee of the Lokpal agitation but had chosen not to join the AAP at its inception.
