Alva's College lecturer commits suicide after boyfriend dies

Moodbidri, Aug 31: A lecturer working in Alva's college Moodbidri allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on Saturday evening at an apartment in Gandhinagar where she was staying.

25-year-old Vanishree, commerce lecturer teaching at Alva's PU college is the deceased. Daughter of Krishnaraj and resident of Kadaba in Puttur taluk was staying at Rosedal Apartment from last three months along with two other friends.

a suicide note found near the body stated that she was taking this extreme step as she could not overcome the death of her

boyfriend who had allegedly committed suicide few days ago.

The incident occurred when her roommates had gone out to participate in Sarvajanika Ganeshostav'.

When they returned, they found that the door was locked from inside. They broke open the door only to find hanging body of Vanishree.

A case of unnatural death has been registered. Investigations are on.
