BJP warns against transferring Udupi SP

Udupi, Oct 4: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kota Srinivas Poojary has said that the BJP will oppose any move to transfer Superintendent of Police Laxman B. Nimbargi.

In his tweet in Kannada, Mr. Poojary said that the government could expect cooperation for providing better administration. But the BJP would not support any move to transfer the Superintendent of Police for political reasons, he said.

The tweet comes in the backdrop of Congress workers demanding that Mr. Nimbargi be transferred from Udupi as he had ordered lathi-charge during Bharat Bandh.

On October 2, Congress workers in Udupi had gheraoed district in-charge minister Jaimala demanding the transfer of the SP.
