Mangaluru, Aug 8: Led by Sonia Narang, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, a team of Crime Investigation Department on Monday visited the Mangaluru residence of M K Ganapathi, the controversial police officer who had committed suicide last month.

The team comprising of A Kumaraswamy, superintendent of police, CID, interacted with Pavana, the widow of Ganapathi, and their two sons for nearly seven hours and recorded their statements, sources said.
While leaving, Ms Narang refused to give any information over the case to media persons saying the investigation was under progress.
Ganapathi, was posted as the DySP at the office of IGP in Mangaluru when he committed suicide at a lodge in Madikeri on July 7. Hours prior to hanging himself the cop had claimed in a local media channel that then Bengaluru Development and Town Planning Minister K J Jorge and a senior police officer A M Prasad would be held responsible if anything happens to him.
